You know those "easy" crafting days where you are completely in the mood to craft, you sit down, flip through some patterns to inspire you and voila! Shortly afterward you have a beautiful project.
I had one of those days today when making a birthday card for an "All Occasions" card set I am putting together for my mom. It was easy. Seamless. Fun.
But was that my crafting experience putting together yesterday's project??? Well, not so much.
It started out the same: I was completely in the mood to craft; I flipped through some patterns and felt inspired. But instead of "shortly afterwards - voila!" it was more like a not-so-short time afterwards all I had to show for my efforts was a pile of scrap paper of false starts and rejects!
Luckily I was skyping with a friend at the time. She only lives a few cities away, but we've started Skyping as a way of crafting together. I showed her what I was struggling with, we laughed about some of my "rejects" and she made some suggestions. In the end the card did come together, but only after scrapping everything I had done up to that point and staring all over.
I still don't know why some crafting days every part of the project is a struggle, while other days everything runs together smoothly. What I do know is in the end, I always enjoy both projects equally. The memory of the effort fades while the pleasure of the project lives on.
